Help your kids get into the Scriptures in a fun and enjoyable way. Do you know that you can do it not by just reading it to them? Spin these albums that will make them bop around but also keep them hiding God’s word in their heart through songs. Here are my top five favorite Scripture song albums that my family enjoys (and we hope you’ll enjoy it too):
Questions With Answers, Vol 1. : God and Creation (Dana Dirksen) – Do you want to teach kids basic Christian beliefs and give them the supporting verses for it as well? Then this one is for you! It’s a catechism (based on The Westminster Shorter Catechism of 1647) and Scripture song album in one. Set in happy acoustic tunes along with kids singing with Dana, this is one enjoyable album.
Meet The Rizers (The Rizers) –If you want upbeat, VBS level music for, kids then prepare for The Rizers. The Rizers is an animated (yes cartoons like the Gorillaz) kids band that sings Bible verses. Although they have a sophomore album with the same goodness as the first, they haven’t released anything yet since 2011 (but they’re still active on their FB page). Still this decade old album brings in the fun!
Remember and Proclaim: Scripture Songs for Little Ones (The Corner Room) – For the latest release, Adam Wright (a.k.a. The Corner Room) wants every opportunities of their daily life to point it back to this truth: God loves us. What better way to do this than by singing about it. Hence, this album came about. Enjoy Bible verses that meet you in your moments of fear, joy, challenges and doubts.
Fighter Verse Songs, Set 1 (Various Artist) – If you want variety of genre and artist in one great Scripture song album, then this album from Truth78 (formerly Children Desiring God) delivers that. Every compilation contains over 30 songs that run for an hour and more. So there are plenty of Bible verse to listen to and love. Hide ‘Em In Your Heart: Bible Memory Melodies (Vol. 1) (Steve Green) –You might be familiar with Steve Green being one of the popular singers in the CCM scene in the 90’s and (like me) played one of his song in your wedding. But did you know that Green released two Scripture song album? My wife enjoys listening it and we share it to our daughter. What we like with these album is that every song has an narrated introduction that makes it feel like one of those children TV programs. The songs are catchy and you’ll be singing along with every track you listen.
