Q: Paano nilikha ng Diyos ang tao?
A: Nilkha ng Diyos ang tao, lalake at babae, ayon sa Kanyang wangis.
Ang mga tao ay nilikha ng Diyos ayon sa Kanyang wangis. Gaya ng nabanggit natin sa unang tanong ng Katekismo, ang tao ay may dignidad, mayroong rasyonal at moral na katangian. Ipaunawa sa mga bata na hindi ito tumutukoy pisikal na itsura ng Diyos dahil Siya ay Espiritu. Ang pagiging-‘wangis ng Diyos’ ay tumutukoy sa kopya ng kabanalan at katuwiran ng Diyos sa kanyang mga nilikha.
Dahil ang tao ay nilikha ayon sa wangis ng Diyos, nararapat nating isalamin ang Diyos, ipakilala at ipakita kung sino ang Diyos, at irepresenta ang Diyos nang nagpapasailalim sa Kanya para sa Kanyang mga nilikha.
Itong wangis ng Diyos ay nadungisan, at winasak ng kasalanan. Gayunpaman, hindi ito lubusang nawala. Ito ay mapapanumbalik lamang sa biyaya ng Diyos (Eph. 4:24, Col 3:13), sa pagtingin at pakikipag-isa sa ganap na wangis ng Diyos, ang ating Panginoong Hesu-Kristo. Q.19. How did God create man?
A. God created man, male and female, after His own image. (Gen 1:27)
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

Man was created by God in His image. As we mentioned in the first question of the Catechism, man has dignity, has a rational and moral character. Let the children know that it does not refer to the physical feature of God for He is Spirit. The ‘image and likeness of God’ refers to the creaturely copy of God’s holiness and righteousness.
Because man was created in the image of God, we are to reflect God, to make know and show who God is, and to represent God under His Lordship for His creation.
This image of God has been defiled, and corrupted by sin. However, it is not completely lost. It can only be restored by the grace of God (Eph. 4:24, Col 3:13), by seeing and being united with the perfect image of God, our Lord Jesus Christ. Like Christ, the love of the Father and the love of our neighbor should be central to our life, as images of God.
