Dahil ang Tipan ay isang napakahalagang salita sa Bibliya (Gen 15:8, Mga Awit 89:3, Jer 31:33, Mark, 14:24, Heb 8:6), nararapat malaman ng mga bata kung ano ang tipan.
Una, ito ay itinalaga ng Diyos na nakipag-relasyon sa mga tao. Ibig sabihin, hindi lamang ito basta ibinigay ng Diyos, kung ibinigay ng mapagmahal, mabiyaya, at marunong ng Diyos sa mga tao para sa kabutihan at ikaiinam ng tao.
Hindi din ito tila kailangan pa ng pagsang-ayon ng tao para makapagbigay ang Diyos ng Tipan, kundi, ito ay itinalaga ng Diyos para sundin ng tao. Ang utos na nakapaloob sa tipan ay hindi suhestiyon kundi kinakailangang sundin. Dito makikita ang pagkakaiba ng Diyos at tao. Hindi sila magkaparehas na grupo. Ang Salita ng Diyos ang nagpapatibay at tumitiyak sa Tipan.
Maaari itong ihalintulad sa mga bagay na iniuutos ng mga magulang sa kanilang anak, nararapat sila sumunod para sa kanilang ikabubuti.

Q.25. What is a covenant?
A. A relationship that God establishes with us and guarantees by His word.
Because the Covenant is a very important word in the Bible (Gen 15:8, Ps. 89:3, Jer. 31:33, Mark, 14:24, Heb. 8:6), children need to know what a covenant is.
First, it was ordained by God who established a relationship with His people. That is, it is not just given by God, but by a loving, gracious, and wise God to men for the advancement and betterment of man.
It is imposed upon men. It does not need man’s consent for God to give the Covenant, but rather, it is ordained by God for man to obey. The commandment contained in the covenant is not a suggestion but a requirement to follow. Here we can see the difference between God and man. They are not equal parties. Also, the Word of God establishes and guarantees the Covenant.
It can be compared to the things that parents command their children, they must obey it for their own good.
