Ako ay masama sa bawat bahagi ng aking pagkatao. (Eph 2:1-3)
Kayo noo’y mga patay sa inyong mga pagsalangsang at mga kasalanan, na dati ninyong nilakaran, ayon sa lakad ng sanlibutang ito, ayon sa pinuno ng kapangyarihan ng himpapawid, ng espiritu na ngayon ay gumagawa sa mga anak ng pagsuway.

Pinapakita sa tanong na ito na ang buong pagkatao ng lahat ng salinlahi ni Adan ay masama, sa isip (Rom 3:11), puso (John 3:19) at kalooban (Pro 1:29). Kaya hindi totoo na may natirang mabuti sa mga tao.
Sa pagsabi na ang tao ay masama sa bawat bahagi nito, pinagdidiinan natin na dahil sa pagkahulog ng tao sa kasalanan, sila ay hindi na tulad noong sila ay nilikha ng Diyos na banal at matuwid. Ang tao ay masama at hindi niya kayang gawing matuwid ang kanyang sarili.
Gayunpaman, dahil sa biyaya ng Diyos napipigilan ang pagpapakita ng lubusang kasamaan ng tao. May mga gumagawa ng mabuti sa kapwa, at mga bata ay sumusunod pa rin sa magulang.
Dahil ang buong pagkatao natin ay naapektuhan ng kasalanan, walang magnanais na lumapit kay Kristo. Ang mga tao ay pinili na sumuway sa Diyos, sa puso, isip, at sa gawa. Kaya kailangan ng mga bata ang Ebanghelyo ni Kristo at ang biyaya ng Diyos para sila ay mabago at tunay na sumunod sa kautusan ng Diyos.

Q.39. How sinful are you by nature?
A. I am corrupt in every part of my being. (Eph 2:1-3)
And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.

This question shows that the whole being of all of Adam’s descendants is sinful, in mind (Rom 3:11), heart (John 3:19), and will (Pro 1:29). So it is not true that their humanity is still good inside.
By saying that man is evil in every part of it, we emphasize that because of man’s fall into sin, they are no longer as they were when God created them holy and righteous. Man is evil and he cannot make himself righteous.
Nevertheless, by God’s grace the manifestation of man’s utter wickedness is restrained. There are those who do good to others, and children still obey their parents.
Because our whole being is affected by sin, no one will desire to come to Christ. People have chosen to disobey God, in heart, mind, and deeds. So children need the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the grace of God for them to be changed and truly obey God’s law.
