Jesus: My Joy-Giver, Lover, and Faithful Provider

These past few months have been a roller coaster for me, there were valley moments and mountaintop experiences!

Ang drama ‘no? If you’re like me and you live alone, you have probably experienced these especially during this time of pandemic. Our present situation can steal our joy, hope and motivation. Indeed, Covid 19 can be a huge joy-stealer, if you allow it!

Now let’s try to look at that scenario again but this time with a joyful perspective.

Picture this again: you are alone, it’s raining really hard outside, you turn on your music, make a cup of coffee, sit at your favorite corner, enjoying that alone time, the cold weather, and every sip of your coffee – joyfully being in the presence of the Lord. You see the difference?  Joy changed the entire picture.

In my case although I live alone, I’m not lonely. I’m always with Him. I’m alone but we are together. This may sound crazy, but this is true. Sometimes we think that singleness is aloneness. But with Jesus, singleness is joyfulness!

When these thoughts come to mind, I often remind myself of the truth that Jesus is the lover of my soul! But how do I tangibly experience that?

God’s love was reflected at the garden of Eden.

God’s love already existed before He made that decision. God’s love already existed before He created the first man and woman. God’s love already existed before He clothed His created humans with animal skin after they have sinned against Him. His love never ceased. It continued on that cross when He gave His Son to suffer and die. His love continued when His Son resurrected after three days. His love continued when Jesus gave the command to share what He has done on the cross to people as far as the ends of the earth.

His love is the greatest that He sought me even in my most wicked state. His love is so deep that it gives life to my once dead bones. Even in this season, His love never fails to satisfy my soul.

Faithful provider

Yes, during this pandemic there were many times that I asked the Lord “paano na?” But you know what? He never failed! For me, this only proves that my Father is the greatest provider. But through this process I realized that my Father’s presence is the greatest provision.

This pandemic may be a joy-stealer, but Jesus is my joy-giver! There may be days that I feel unloved, but Jesus is my lover. This might be a season of hunger, but God is my faithful provider.

Parehas tayong mahal Niya!
