Ito ang katotohanan na dapat magdulot sa ating ng pighati, dahil namatay ang Anak ng Diyos sa krus. Ito ay isang kamatayan na tanging paraan para maligtas ang mga makasalanan. Ang ating kasalanan ang dahilan kung bakit si Hesus nagdusa sa Krus mula sa poot ng Ama. Sa kabilang banda, ito rin ay dapat na magdulot sa atin ng galak dahil sa pamamagitan nito binayaran ni Hesus ng Kanyang dugo ang kabayaran ng kasalanan na hindi natin kailanman kayang bayaran.
Tinanggap ni Hesus ang labis na pagdurusa at kahihiyaan sa harap ng madla upang maiharap ang Kanyang mga tao nang walang dungis at katanggap-tanggap sa harapan ng Ama. Ito dapat ang ating ilagay sa mga isipan ng ating mga anak. Ang tao’y magiging matuwid sa harapan ng Ama hindi dahil sa ating pagsunod kundi dahil sa ginawa lamang ni Kristo na kanilang makakamit sa pamamagitan lamang ng pananampalataya.
Sa tuwing pag-uusapan ang pagsunod ng ating mga anak, hindi dapat ito ang basehan para sila ay maging katanggap-tanggap sa atin o Diyos. Sumunod man sila o hindi, iniibig natin sila. Ngayon, kung sila ay sumunod, dapat pa rin nating ipagdiinan na ito ay buhat sa biyaya ng Diyos lamang at kailangan nila si Hesus upang magkaroon ng puso na tunay na may pagnanais na sumunod.

Q.54. What kind of death did Jesus die?
A. The painful and shameful death of the cross. (Phil 2:8)
And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. ~ Philippians 2:8 ESV
This is the truth that should cause us sorrow because the Son of God died on the cross. It is a death that is the only way for sinners to be saved. Our sin is the reason why Jesus suffered on the cross from the wrath of the Father. On the other hand, it should also bring us joy because through his painful death Jesus paid with His blood the penalty for sin that we could never pay.
Jesus endured so much suffering and humiliation publicly in order to present His people without blemish and acceptable before the Father. This is what we should put in the minds of our children. We can be righteous before the Father not because of our obedience but only because of what Christ has done that can be obtained only by faith.
Whenever our children’s obedience is discussed, it should not be the basis for them to be acceptable to us or God. Whether they obey or not, we love them. Now, if they obey, we must still emphasize that it is by the grace of God alone and they need Jesus that they may have a heart that truly desires to obey.
