Si Cristo, ang Kordero ng Diyos, na darating upang mamatay para sa mga makasalanan (Jn 1:29)

Nalaman natin sa naunang tanong na hindi sapat ang mga handog ng lumang tipan para mapawi ang galit ng Ama at alisin ang kasalanan ng Kanyang mga tao. Ang mga ito ay anino lamang ng handog ni Cristo (Heb. 10:1). Siya ang Kordero ng Diyos!
Inalay Niya ang Kanyang sarili para sa katubusan ng Kanyang mga tao. Ang Kanyang handog ay sapat na dahil ito ay minsanan lamang inialay (Heb. 7:27, John 19:30), at buhay mismo ng Anak ng Diyos. Mainam na maunawaan ito ng mga bata, hindi na dapat ulitin pa ang handog ni Hesus dahil ito ay pagdadagdag sa natapos ng gawa Niya sa Krus. Sila ay dapat na magtiwala lamang sa alay na tinanggap ng Ama para sa kaligtasan ng mga nanampalataya at mananampalataya sa Kanya.
Sa Diyos lamang ang papuri!

Q.68. What did these sacrifices represent?
A. Christ, the Lamb of God, who would come to die for sinners. (Jn 1:29)

We learned in the previous question that the offerings of the old covenant were not sufficient to appease the wrath of the Father and take away the sin of His people. They are only a shadow of Christ’s sacrifice (Heb. 10: 1). He is the Lamb of God!
He offered Himself for the redemption of His people. His sacrifice is sufficient because it was offered only once (Heb. 7:27, John 19:30), and what was offered was the very life of the Son of God. It is good for the children to understand this, Jesus’ sacrifice should not be repeated because it is an addition to the finished work of Him on the Cross. They should trust only in the offering accepted by the Father for the salvation of those who believe and trust in Him.
